  1. forum youngblood 156 for ur board, i personally like the burton freestyle bindings, quite cheap, other than that its pretty much whatever you want based on looks, besides boots, i also personally like my boots too be like complete marshmallows on the inside

  2. Okay, some of these answers are way wrong and you should seriously ignore them.

Don't get a neversummer! They will be way to stiff and you will hate it! Only buy one after you've tried it and like it.

get something on the soft side. gabetron, Roxy is a real snowboard company. Their boards are made by Mervin Manufacturing, which also makes gnu, lib tech, etc. I think a Roxy Silhouette would be a good choice if you want a Roxy board.

If you are planning on doing rails, DON'T get magnetraction! They are basically super sharp edges and they will catch on rails and boxes! If you really want the board however, you can always get the edges detuned, though that would be ruining the purpose on the magnetraction...

Burton is a fine brand. Some people are just haters because they believe only posers use the brand. That is untrue, Burton makes great boards, and though they are pricey, their quality is great. A Burton Lux  would be great for you.

For boots, don't go by brand, go by comfort. These will be very important for your riding. Get a snug, comfortable boot, and remember, boots will pack out, so make sure there is no extra space when you buy them. Thirty-two, salomon, and Burton make great boots. I hear thirty-two is better for narrow feet, and burton is slightly wider, but just try on all the boots and get the most comfortable one.

As for bindings, I hear Burton Stillettos are great for beginners. They have cap straps, which are more comfy in my opinion, and are better than the Citizens.

For jackets, just get whatever one you like the best. Unless you live in Alaska, or in places with more extreme conditions, the tech shouldn't really matter that much. Same with the pants.

For goggles, I like Smith. They are nice quality goggles. Oakleys are considered pricey, but I think they are pretty good. Anon is also nice. Just get the ones you like best.

  3. Boards: Elle by Nide Ecker, Trust me by Automation and a Burton Lux [I currently own this board and I'm pretty much the same in everything as you. I've had it for 3 years now and I'm still not bored of it]. For the size I would recommend anywhere from a 146 to a 149 because you're still growing and a snowboard is a serious investment.  You will want it to last.

Bindings: Burton Citizen or Burton Stiletto [I own these and they are kick a**. They're durable and give just enough  response. They're really good for grinding]

Boots: Burton Mint [I own these as well. All the water stays on the outside. I've never got soaked through. They also have speed zone lacing so you don't have to actually lace your boots all the way up.]. Also the Burton Casa or the Lodi would be good choices.

1st layer: Tops: Kombi -Ziptop Polar layer [very warm, never been cold and I've snowboarded through Vermont in -30 without the windchill], Burton Expedition 1/4 Zip

Bottoms: Kombi - Polar Pants, Burton Expedition         Pants

[I don't recommend anything but the warmest 1st layer. It makes all the difference]

Outerwear: B by Burton Windsor Jacket and Pants. Burton: stow cargo pants [gridlock lust] with the same jacket

I also recommend getting a pair of snowboarding socks from Burton because if you're feet aren't warm you won't want to keep going

  4. Most snowboard brands these days make good products, and any brands sold in a proper snowboard shop will be good. You need to look at getting the right products for you personally based on your level of riding, general size, foot shape etc. The sort of board you should go for is an entry level all mountain board, all mountain boards are great as you can do all types of riding on them freestyle, freeriding and powder. Some good boards you shoulde check out are

    K2 Skyla

    Nitro Mystique

    Burton Feather

    Forum Star

    Salomon Lotus

All thse boards are easy to ride and progress on, but are progresive enough to last you a while.

As for bindings get an entry level set some good brands for bindings are Ride, Flow, Drake, K2, Burton etc.

For boots you need to go to your local shop or shops and try on a large range of boots made by different brands and go with the ones that fit your feet the best. Brands like Northwave and Salomon suit people with narrow feet wheres 32,s and DC suit people with wider feet. You will find your particular foot shape suits certain brands better than others so trying before you buy is a must when buying boots. Hope this helps, Good luck with the riding.

  5. I go with Burton for my boards and bindings. anything else...boots helmets goggles etc. can be found from a lot of brands. Black diamond, DC,Salomon, Volcom. Any one of those are great. i personally like Burton the best although i do own a bunch of black diamond gear also.

  6. burton or dc.

  7. get a neversummer board and some burton p1 bindings

  8. dont get burton. they are overpriced. a good chick boards are available at rei.com. get a roxy snowboard with magnetraction. ride and k2 make good bindings. boots are all about personal choice. you dont need a coat from a snowboarding co. just get any warm one. my coat is from kohls

  9. dont buy burton or forum (burton makes forum).. there over priced and over rated.. look into the k2 www or any park capita. i ride the www and its the best board i have ever riddin.. flexible, light, cool design, and its been the top park board for the past 3 years. the only down side is there not very durible. but you can buy two www for the price of 1 forum or burton

    -good luck

  10. Yeah dont get a burton. Trust me. Horrible, and over priced, and i mean that!

Roxy i wouldn't even call a real snowboard company.

go with Rome, its the sickest board company ever, and the only one that actually makes girl boards, just like guy boards only softer and lighter, [which is good!!]

go check out the rome detail or rome blue.

    just trust me!
