Snowboarding equipment?

can anyone tell me what eqipment is required to snowboard with? i'm going to take it up and need to know what the must haves are.

All the stuff the last guy said A HELMET (Seriously. People die without them and they have some good looking ones plus theyre warm) and get cap toe bindings cause they have good support

Everything that is said above is right except for cap toe bindings.  

That's totally optional. They have nothing to do with support. All they do is help push your heel back into your binding better.  I don't like them because they feel like they're squishing my toes back instead of holdind my toes down. Some people like them and a lot of people don't.

You can buy bindings where the toe strap is a hybrid so you can either put it over top of your toe or arround your toe like a cap strap. That's what I use and I tend to put it half way in between.
