Snowboarding for the first time?

its actually my second time, but i didnt get a chance to snowboard my first time because i fell once, and i was one the ground then some idiot ran over my hand. I just need some help on carving and stopping. when you carve, you just point up and down with your toes, right? my friend said to move your back foot. aLSO, HOW WOULD I STOP? thx

  1. Yes, true but there is more to it kinda. By stopping you need to force your board to move to a heel or toeside stop, or else it will just take you where the board wants to go.when you carve you pretty much do the same thing but just don't turn as much and always bend your knees.


  2. If it's only your second day out wanting to carve is a little ambitious.  Work on linking your turns and that will evolve into carving as you get more comfortable and go faster.

    You stop by making a turn and then apply pressure to your edge.  It's the same thing you do to scrub speed between turns.

  4. well yes the main part of moving from side to side is your toes and heals but if you want to stop you would swing your back foot to the side of you to stop and dig you heals or toes which ever way feels more comfortable
