I'm going snowboarding for only the second time ever next week. I plan on sticking to the easier hills obviously. Will goggles make a big difference?

  1. It depends on several factors; how fast you plan on going, the temperature, and the weather.  You'll really want a pair if you start going fast, or if its freezing, or if its snowing.

I always wear them.  Even though you might feel like your going faster without them, you can actually go faster with them on because you don't have to worry about wind, sun or any other factors that can affect your vision.  Also, a good pair of goggles can help you see the run better and provide more definition.

I would recommend grabbing a pair online, there are many sites running end of the season sales and you can pick up a decent pair for < 30.

  2. definitely.  depending on the lens, goggles will enhance your vision on the mountian. an orange lens

9most common) will help block the sun if its sunny but they still work well if its overcast. plus, goggles make you look awesome.

That is if your willing to buy them. I have spy soldier goggles with silver mirrors. their a little expensive but they dont fog and make me look even cooler.

  3. i would definetly wear goggles

its the best way to go wherever you ride not to mention most goggles look sickk

they protect your eyes from winds, sun reflecting off the snow etc. and of course heavy snow

i own  electric goggles which are kinda expensive around $85 but they last a long time adn have some crazy designs

there are a bunch of different companies like smith, oakley, anon etc. adn prices range

you may not want them now while youre learnign but def. consider them in the future

personally i dont think ive ever seen anyone not wear goggles on teh mountain

  4. Not too much, but they're a good idea.  Either that or sunglasses if it is going to be sunny, because ive gotten my retinas burnt from the snow once or twice and it isnt fun.  The main reason I wear goggles (besides the fact that they make me look so dang s**y. haha jk) is to keep the wind out of my eyes when im going down the hill.  Makes it easier to see.

  5. i personally hate wearing goggles going down a mountain. it gives u more of a rush going down without them. Plus, if you get the cheap ones, your gonna get pissed off because there gonna fog up so them ur gonna half to take your gloves off an wipe them down. i go down blacks and stuff and your eyes just water a little.

  6. brian d just about wraps it up,  they can keep your face warm, and protect your eyes from the snow blindness, and yes they can actually help you see the definition of the terrain, you can always find some price points for 30-ish

  7. Well it really depends what the weather is like up on the hills. If it it wind and/or snowing, you probably would be better off with goggles. Also, if you have glasses, a good idea would be to get specially made snowboarding goggles with the lenses of your glasses (ex. rec specs for basketball). Also, you might not want to get snow goggles if you are on a low budget. If you want ones that really don't fog, then you might want to go over your limit for something worth keeping.

  8. no, unless they are making snow
