  1. Good boards:

Freestyle (park): Rome, Forum, K2, Gnu, Lib Tech

Freeride (runs / pow): Ride, K2, Burton

Bindings: don't skimp too much, get ones w/ metal buckles like the Ride EX

Boots: Vans, DC, Burton - get the ones that fit the best. Wear them for hours at home to make sure they don't cut off circulation.

At end of season sales you can get all of this easily for less than $400 - but only if you are buying previous season board at a good discount. Do you have a Sports Authority near you - their September pre-season sale is amazing. Just rent til then? Try this size calculator for suggestions:

    Good Luck

  2. Capita is a good brand, I'm riding the stairmaster ext. with union(capita) cadet lady bindings, and nitro womens rival boots all together it was over $600. You can skimp on bindings but you want a good board that you can grow into and nice boots. Make sure the boots are tight in the store, the cushion in the boots will compress and if you get them comfortable, they will end up to big.

  3. Salomon ace £200

    Ride bindings £100-£££

Burton moto boots RRP=£120 eBay new, £60

Good setup i have this set apart from boots as my feet are still growing but might get them and i havent tried them yet but it is my first setup as well hope this helps:)
