  1. first of all its harder to say b/c idk if u ride goofy or regular. it was super easy to ride switch for me becuase i ride goofy but supposing u ride regular it will feel awkward and i say that u want to start on smaller slopes and ride normal for a long period and ride switch for short period then switch off

  2. Cheri's right.  You just gotta do it.  Ride the exciting stuff regular, and every chance you get to sorta relax, switch it over.  The flats, however, is not a good place to practice.

For me, while I learned to ride switch, and even at the beginning of the season, I almost felt like I was leaning forward/downhill while I rode switch.  You can't let yourself lean further back than you would riding regular.  Really focus on having a good, "balanced" stance.  If you're on hard-pack, there's really no reason to have more than 60% of your weight on your back foot, regular or switch.  Any more than that is really only for the steeps, deeps, and "loading" for a jump.

So yeah, it will be a little uncomfortable at first.  Just remember, you already know how to do it, you just don't have the muscle memory riding switch yet.  You have to apply it all consciously.

Tear it up!  Don't be afraid to wipe out now and then!  If you push yourself and eventually start riding the "exciting stuff" iI mentioned before switch also, you'll get to the point that you're practically as comfy both ways.

OH YEAH!!  And make sure your binding stance isn't set too directionally.  If you're progressing to switch, your stance needs to progress to a more symetrical one.  A little "duck footed", a little more centered.  GOOD LUCK!!!

  3. I had to force myself to do it.  When teaching others how to ride I forced myself to ride the whole run down in switch.  Eventually it became easier and to this day it is still something I need to remind myself how to do.  I become a little rusty at the start of the year but I just make myself do it.

Recently my friends and I did some bunny hill sessions hitting small boxes going down the hill switch.  It was fun and it helped.
