Snowboarding on a carpet/astroturf??

Ive heard people say that you can get some carpet, astroturf, whatever....get it wet, put some dish soap on it, and you can make your own little runs with boxes and rails. Can you actually do that? I thought there would be too much friction for your board to slide...

  1. Yeah you can use carpet or astroturf but only if you are riding in the fall line onto say a box or rail. But you wont be able to turn on it your board will slide away as there is nothing for the edges to grip on. I wouldent really advise doing it either as astroturf especially wont do the base of your board much good. You would be better off getting a proper dryslope surface like snowflex or dendex. It will cost more than carpet  or astroturf but will be worth it. Good luck with the riding.
