Snowboarding on a dry ski slope? ?

I have been snowboarding on snow before but am not very good and still need to edge quite a lot to slow myself down. Can you do this on a dry ski slope or do you have to just go straight down? They are made of rubber aren't they with water spraying onto the slope? I can't work out how edging would work on that kind of surface. I would love to go to a snow dome but they are expensive, hard to get to and not v good environmentally...

  1. if it's soft rubber you could probably edge on it, but I wouldn't try it.

  2. i snowboard quite alot, the dry ski slopes ive been on were made from a kind of man-made fibre like what ud rub ur shoes on to get mud off :S lol and the edging works quite well on that but u cant beat the real snow :)

  3. You can go straight, but you're eventually going to need to turn, either to get out of someone's way or to stop.  Because it's not real snow it's also going to be a bit harder to set your edge, so be careful.

  4. I have no idea, but try it and find out, or pay some bum on the street to try it out first to see if it's safe

  5. i learnt on dry slope and then went to snow which is ok cause snow is easier so you learn on a harder curve and then your better on snow

but going from snow to dry slope is a no no its not worth it plus its easier to break stuff on it i reaaaally wouldn't recommend it i doubt you'll get any kind of extra learning out of it probably just bruises!

    wait till the snow comes!
