I have only being snowboarding on a dry ski slope in bracknell where the surface is perma-snow like this: http://www.bracknellskislope.co.uk/i/image_bank/11611731715718.jpg

Will i be okay on normal snow? Any tips you can give me ( i can do up to basic turns).

Thanks

  1. Depending on conditions, most real snow is going to be "sticky" - especially in spring conditions.

I would start back with your basic skills and practice some side slips and falling leaf on real snow to get a feel for how the edge sticks to real snow. Also remember to exagerate the pressure on the downhill part of your foot (heel or toe) when starting a turn. Once you get used to the way the snow compacts and holds the edge it should be easier than artificial snow.

    Good Luck

  2. well, if your gonna go snowboarding now, the snow's not gonna be very smooth, it'll be really rough, so you might want to practice before getting on the actual slopes. other than that, go for it.
