  1. To stand.

  2. it's impossible!  i can only ski....

  3. Patience and practice.  Take a few lessons too!

A friend told me "when in doubt ride it out."  Perfect sense.  I was falling instead of finishing turns that I was afraid of.  Turns out I could do them, I was just letting my brain win.

Take a lesson and then spend the afternoon working on what you learned.  Focus on making a turn with out falling.  Then count how many turns you can link.  Just work your way up slowly on a green run until you can do it without falling.

It'll take a day or two but when you get it and make it down the run without falling it's the greatest feeling ever.

  4. PRACTICE!!! you'll get it down after a couple times going.  It takes time for your body to get used to the balance.  As far as terrain, just start small and set goals like: i'm going to hit this jump or this rail today.  But don't do terrain until after you get the basics down.

  5. *******NOT ********

skiing is so much more awesome, as in you don't fall down every 10 feet, I've been doing it my whole life (since I was 2), and I always get annoyed when snowboarders who think they're so cool fall down in the middle of the slope and make everybody go around them

  6. not smashing face first into the ground. in other words, balance.

  7. B-A-L-A-N-C-E

  8. confidence, if you have the slightest hesitation you will fail.

  9. vou must know zat zere is no trick to snowboarding, et is all in ze brain. vou need more experience. shank you. zat is all.

  10. Practice. You must practice it many times. Because you won't get it the first time or maybe not even the second or the third, etc, etc.

You must keep your back straight and your knees slightly bent. But do not lean or you will fall either backwards or forwards.

At the beginning, it is a good idea to stop yourself by falling. But as soon as you can stand up and glide down the slopes. You should learn the correct way. To stop youself you have to turn the board. If you are facing down the hill, you will press down on your left toe and press down on your right heel to turn your board.

So now, you are gliding down the hill. You want to slow down or stopp though, so to do so press down on your left toe and your right heel again. Once on the right side of the slope, press down on your left heel and your right toe and you will shift your board to the left. Do this and you'll be able to weave down the hill and stop. Notice that IF YOU RIDE GOOFY and NOT REGULAR...you'll have to switch my instructions around.

It takes a lot of practice and it is harder than skiing so make sure you know what you're getting yourself into.

  11. I have no clue, go to , a snowboarding web site? try not to fall? idk ? I never snow boarded in my life .

  12. not sucking. But if you do suck give it up cause people who suck and are falling all over the runs slow me down.

  13. when you first start out u can go slow by going down with your feet facing normal ( so the board is horizontal). put pressure in you heels so u can edge the snow. this is also how you stop. on my first day of snowboarding i was already going down the mountain ; )

  14. balance!!!!!!!!

  15. balance and dont get distracted

  16. getting bruises, if you don't ur doing it wrong, jk, my record is 19 in one day (not normally an easy bruiser either)

my trick is sticking both ur arms out on either side like the letter "T" no jk a letter "I" because of the snowboard, unless u write ur "i" s differently never mind. then use ur lead arm to point in the direction you want to go> ur board will follow

and if u get frustrated just sit on the side of the hill and watch some other people + u will be suprised how many people fall on their booties too, and hard

i've skiied for half my life and snowboarded for the other, don't give up and just settle for skiing, skiing is easier but in the long run snowboarding is way more fun

PLUS- skiing is for old people so if u want to try skiing u have time, snowboarding... not so much

  17. keeeep practicing.

stay in contorl, dont let the board control you.

  18. There is no trick, but if there was, balance isn't as much as patience and persistence.  Be patient with yourself, your patience will pay off and you'll get your balance if you push yourself.  There is no trick, just blood, sweat, and snow.

Skiing sucks compared to snowboarding.  You guys are just jealous you can't sit on your butts.  Those are the posers too.  Real riders don't tend to sit down in the middle of the trail.  We ride down to the bottom and catch a lift back up.  Or we find somewhere out of the way to chill.  The noobs who sit in the middle of the trail p**s us off just as much as they p**s you off.  They give us a bad rep.

And I can just as easily say the gapers (mostly skiers) who stupidly stand in the middle of the trail looking up p**s us off, and probably other skiers too.

  19. fall down. alot. Don't quit. Most people fail because they give up after 2 or 3 days of falling down.

  20. stay calm and balance yourself
