Snowboarding.......?

I've been snowboardin for quite a while now but I always woundered what's the best weight of a snowboard? Mine is too heavy, I know that. It feels like it has to be about 20+lbs and it feels like I have cinder blocks on when I go off a jump. Before on my begginers board, which I actually still use, I can go off jumps fine and do tricks all with that piece of plastic but with my normal board, I fall a lot while going off jumps cuz it scares the c**p outa me at how heavy it is. So, is it the board or is it just cuz I'm not use to handling such a heavy board yet?

  1. Maybe the board is too heavy for you, when you buy it you should consult the guy that works there, you should check on google for the weigh/board ratio.

try using this snowboarding calculator :http://www.frostyrider.com/tips/size-gui...

Other than that I snowboard too, and for the forst 3 years I was scared as h**l to do the jumps, I think you have to be really familiar with the terrain and completely comfortable with your board to attempt the jump, especially since your just getting started. Maybe you should practise somwhere, build a small jump and then go up from there.

    Good luck!

  2. I love my board because of how light it is and durable at the same time. You have to get a board that you're comfortable with, not that everyone says is the best. Go to a local snowboarding store and ask about carbon fiber boards or Vaporskin technology on Burton boards. Make sure you have the right length for your height as well. Check mine out as an example.

And all boards need some getting used to, so if you fall at first, don't let it discourage you.
