Snowboarding question??

Question

Is snowboarding anything like skateboarding? I'd love to pick it up this winter and was wondering if you had to be good on a skateboard to do so. All of your input/ personal experiences is appreciated.

If you can snowboard yeah it heals, cause balance and all, but its not really like skateboarding bigger board boards attached to your feet, i cant  skateboard at all, but i can snowboard pretty good and have done for 8yrs, and i still cant skateboard! ha!

my mate skateboards well and he pick up snowboarding really easy, my other mate skates boards well too but he didnt pick it up so well!

give it a go, and dont worry about not being great straight away and also dont get put of if you get a few knocks here and there, injurys from my Pro snowboarding friends include, broken back, broken arms and wrists broken legs dislocated shoulders, not trying to scare you lol

i've accepted that sooner or later im gona break something but then i have started hitting huge 15foot jumps eeekk
