How do you get off of a jumpand land it. More specifically, how should your body be, what part of the board should hit first when landing? Not going for any spins. Just some air and a grab.

  1. You want to keep your knees bent, jump and pull your legs up and grab your board, let go, and land.  the idea is pretty simple, but there are some reasons beginners have problems landing jumps, including:

don't stiffen up.  people get scared, and stiffen up and land with their knees locked, and not bent enough.  this will cause you to bounce when you land, which will more often then not make you crash.

don't be afraid of speed.  you will be landing faster than you were going when you went into the jump.  when beginners are afraid they either reach for the ground while they are in the air and land on their butts, or they land and are afraid they are going too fast, and either sit down and crash, or try to speed check as soon as they land causing then to catch an edge and crash.

when you go off the jump, keep your board straight, keep your knees bent, and when you land, go straight and don't speed check right away.

    good luck.

  2. bend down then extend your legs before you leave the jump.. you should try to come down flat.. so on a downward slope your back foot will touch first.

  3. on a slope; make sure you back foot hits first.

make sure you bend your knees a bit to absorbe the impact and so it won't throw you off balence.
