Snowboarding through powder?

i went boarding today, had a great time i was boarding throught he trees through some thick powder i noticed leaning my weight to by back end help lift my front to get through the powder. its pretty exhausitng work.......is there a better way to cut new trails easily?

  1. Not really, other than strengthening your legs, the only other thing you can do is buy a powder specific board.  The Fish and I'm not sure about the Malolo are pow boards, and there are other strictly directional boards with a split tail that apparently make floating even easier, but make switch riding even harder if not impossible..  I think one is call the Big Gun.


  2. agreed it is exhausting, but its the best way i have found.  when i put too much weight on the front of my board i get stuck and that leads to even more exhausting work and pisses me off lol

  3. not really man.. just start working out.. do leg presses, calf raises.. stuff like that. over time you will build up muscle anyway and do without pain/tiredness, but excersize will help acheive that quicker.

  4. you can shift your bindings back, but then that puts even more pressure on your legs if you end up riding switch thru powder

  5. You can buy a powder specific board like the Burton Fish. That makes it easier since they are built for this type of riding. The nose is bigger than the tail and the inserts are set back so the nose naturally rises out of the powder better.
