okay, well i was in camp last week, in nendaz, which is in the french-speaking part of switzerland.

and okay so you know when you do a turn, go towards the upper part of the mountain wit ur board and then kinda ride switch and end up doing a 360 turn, but like, on the ground?

anyway i've been doing those things for as long as i can remember.

BUT. anyway our teacher isn't a native english speaker and she was like, hmm, what are these called?

and some people said they were 360s but 360s are in the air.

and then she said they were called like waltzes

and then other people called them twirls

and aagh i am just so confused what the h**l ARE those things called?

  1. Butters? Its funny, everyone has there own little custom snowboarding lingo, but from what i have seen and heard, that would be cosidered a butter..

  2. When I teach that on the shallow hills - we call them "grounded 360's" and the kids love doing them. I'm not sure if there is a different name when you switch direction and ride switch - but I know what you mean.

    Good Luck

  3. Its usually called a butter
