  1. skateboarding, but i took it up to help find my summer fix and it really isn't the same feeling

  2. most likely a long board. but i dont like long boards. i prefer skateboarding. i guess it depends on if you ride park or mountain. park is like skateboarding, mountain is like long boarding.

  3. To some degree skateboarding is similar in the sense of grinds, but it's really a totally different game.

Ollieing on a snowboard involves putting pressure onto the tail and popping off of it tucking your legs up.  Skateboarding's ollie (the original) involves popping down with your back foot on the tail, and then if you're timing is good, sliding your front foot up the board and jumping at the same time.  Catching the board in mid air with both feet, and landing.  Skateboarding is more focused on flipping and spinning the deck, while snowboarding is more for corked and inverted spins.

Skateboarding will also give you a feeling of carving to some degree, which is what you would learn in snowboarding after your sliding turns.

Longboarding is more of like downhill snowboarding.

To be honest, skateboarding is hard to progress in.  A big part of skateboarding is timing, while a big part of snowboarding is getting over the mental block of potentially becoming seriously injured.
