Snowboarding with stitches?

I have 6 stiches in my shin that are supposed to be removed on the 30th this month, but the doctor can't do it until january 3. I really want to go with my friends but i don't want to tear the stitches...so, do you think it'd be safe to go snowboarding this friday (the 28th)?

  1. I'd just go snowboarding, but don't do anything with boxes or rails. That's the only way you could really mess up your shin.

  2. Id make a call to my local emergency room and see if you can have one of the on duty dr's take a look at it...and go from there.

.do you know if there are stiches beneth the surface ?

sometimes they put an inner layer stitch to help it heal and hold in place..

they are of the dissolvable type but id still ask..h**l..you had installed for a reason.

.hate to have them put it all back together just cause you blew out of a toe-side carve and dragged your knee over some fresh groomed corduroy..

or slam it in some crud that might be like pavment.

    that would suck

  3. I don;t know how adventurous you are but I have taken out my own stitches, I mean if it is already healed you ar ejust pulling out some string(basically). I am not advising that but what I am saying is if they are healed then even if you were to bust em snowboarding it wouldn't be like you were opening a wound
