I'm a beginner to buying snowboards. I've been using rentals for about 3 years. I'm amateur, not really good at snowboarding, but not horrible either. I'm 5'11 and 155 pounds, size 11 shoe. which board is better for me? the clash or the bullet?

  1. Bullet.this being that it is a wide board.once you get into the size 11+ boot size you should move up to the wide.but otherwise they are the same price and are pretty equal.

  2. The Clash and the Bullet are spec wise the same board apart from the width. The Clash is a regular board wheres the Bullet is a wide board, the only other differences are the graphics and the names. Both these boards would be a good choice for you to buy, they are both entry level boards so are easy to ride but are progressive enough to still last you a while as you improve. You need to go for the one that fits your feet though, im not sure as a size 11 whether you would need a regular or wide board though? it depends on the angle you have your bindings as well as if you ride quite heavily ducked you would probanly get away with a regular board. The best thing for you to do is stand on both boards with your boots on, in the stance that you would ride in. You should be looking for not much more than 1cm overhang on your heel and toe edge. If you have much more than 1cm overhang on a regular board the you should go for the wide board instead. The sort of size you should get is around a 155. Hope this helps, Good Luck.

  3. You didn't mention if you ride the mountain or the park - it makes a difference on size. These boards are both all-mountain boards with setback and directional shape - so I assume you want an all mountain board.

I would say the Clash since you are not a beginner and will be able to grow into it as you get better. There would be many that argue that Burton is overpriced and not even the best, but they are good boards - especially their all mountain boards. My favorites are Ride and K2.

I would say about 158cm for you for an all mountain board. Try this snowboard size calculator that will also suggest boards that may work best for you:
