  1. Getting to drive the groomers is a big responsibility. They are expensive and if damaged can mean the resort might not get all its work done. Driving them isn't hard, but working the grooming equipment is where the skill is needed. If you are already familiar with using a plow, then you are in a better position to get a job.

The bummer is most resorts don't hire groomers out of the blue unless they already have experience. Groomers are also positions that are frequently never vacant. Resorts spend a lot of time training groomers, so they usually pay them well to return year after year. If you are looking for a re-occurring seasonal job, you may convince a resort that you are worth training. Again, if you have a safe record with machines already and can provide some good references, a resort may hire you and feel you are worth training.

Find out where you think you might want to work and see if they have positions open...then apply. That's all the advice I can give.
