  1. The only hat I wear on my head has a hard shell.  It is called a helmet.

  2. snowboard beanies have two layers.  An outer normal layer and an inner "fleece" thin layer.

You only NEED a snowboard beanie on days where the temperature is below 25 degrees or colder, otherwise you can just rock a normal beanie from Aeropostale, Abercrombie,  or whereever.

  3. any you like! I tend to rock with my fav beanie and if extra cold a hoodie and or hood in my jacket

  4. You can wear any beanie. But beanies made specifically for snowboarding/skiing might have some features that regular beanies do not have. For example some have full fleece lining so they are warmer. Some have water repellent treatment. Some have speakers in them. Some have padding to protect your head (not nearly as well as a helmet). Some have wind proof lining so windy days aren't so cold.

So bottom line, it really depends on what you're looking for in a beanie. If your regular beanie keeps you warm and dry there is no reason not to wear it. But if you want are "high performance" one, there are lots to choose from.

  5. Yes you can use your regular beanie, the only snowboard beanie difference I know of is in my NFA beanie...its quite thin on the top of the head to fit under a helmet and has a thicker ring around the head for the ears. However thats an older beanie and now helmets are made to be worn without one.

  6. No you cant.  If you are wearing the wrong hat your snowboard will break in half and you will die.
