So, I'm an SEC football fan..?

Even more detailed, I'm a huge Bama football fan. My husband prefers the NFL to college (prob because his college teams are Big Ten teams and they don't even compare to SEC teams..haha).

Anyway, so, I'm trying to choose an NFL team that I want to follow. I like that Jaguars since I live close to Jacksonville. However, I have to stay true to my Bama roots, so, I'm thinking about choosing the KC Chiefs, only because Brodie Croyle will be their QB this year.

Do you think this is a wise choice on my part or should I stick with the Jags?

  1. You could also consider rooting for your husband's team.  KC will be good again in time, as they are the youngest team in the league right now.  The Jaguars had an excellent year last year, and are ready for another great year (They still won't beat my Colts at the top of the AFC South though).  The Colts have been my favorite team since I was little, because on Troy Aikman's Football for the Super Nintendo, they had the uniforms that I liked the best.  =P  Find something you like, and ride with it.  Even if it is Brodie Croyle.

  2. come to the ACC side we got Cookies

  3. go with what you feel in your heart...i'm a chiefs fan and it looks like it will be a few yrs. before we become championship contenders......good luck ......hook em...

  4. I can relate, since I pull for the Colts as an act of undying loyalty to Peyton Manning. It doesn't hurt either that my wife has Syracuse connections, and the Colts are like Camp Cuse...

The Chiefs will be a major labor of love. Perhaps not the best idea for someone trying to get into the NFL game for the first time? The Jags may not be much better, and are in a tough division IMO, but the potential is there.

My vote is for the Jags. Plus, since they are closer to home for you, there's a chance you could make it to a game sometime.

  5. I've always been a KC fan! :) My Dad's a fan...so it transferred over...plus I used to be in ♥ with Priest Holmes (of course he's gone now) :( but we still have Tony Gonzalez.

My husband has always been a Tampa Bay Buccs fan.

Edit: okay fairweather's...you stick with your team whether they suck or not...that's a true fan :)

  6. i wouldnt choose a favorite team just becuase their qb went to your favorite college because what if he gets traded or released, my favorite team is the Steelers and my favorite college team is OU, but anyway i would encourage you to b a steelers fan because they are good every year, but if i were u i would be a Jags fan

  7. Well KC is going to be weak for a few years to come they have some good players but, im sure the team will struggle in the next several years to come.

As a fellow SEC fan(Gators) I can see how you like to follow your college teams players, the SEC is the greatest supplier of top notch talent the NFL has, and as a lifelong SEC fan, i highly recommend Jacksonville...not only because i am one, but its a great time to be a Jaguar fan, our team will be strong for years to come, we have game-proven players and coaches, and the Jags are among the most exciting team to watch, and above all.......the Jaguars will give you many reasons to be satisfied with your fanhood, and many reasons to brag to your fellow football fans on how Jacksonville is near the top of the league year in, and year out!

  8. The Cheifs suck and don't look like they will be good for a while.  The Jags have a horrible back office but have a great coach and the team plays really hard.  They have a tough nose defense and I think Bama always plays good defense.  What about Atlanta or New Orleans?  Go Vols!!!!!!

  9. I'm big on college football (Big XII, Sooners) and I can't pick a pro team that I like either (living in Arizona, hard to pick the Cards) I follow players from OU that I like (ex: Adrian Peterson). I know a few people who do the same.

  10. Jags were raw last year. They are one of those teams that can beat the colts. Well KC is good also. You got a great running back Larry johnson and also there first draft pick was Glen Dorsey from LSU. He was projected to be the first overall but ended up 5th overall pick. My choice will be Jacksonville. they got a great quarterback Garard and great recievers and not to mention the top duo runningback. Marice-jones Drew and Taylor. Stick with Jags!!!!! My fav is bengals because Chad Johnson!!

  11. I live near KC and know many disappointed people who are Chiefs fans.  Do not pick them as your favorite team.  They will just break your heart.  Stick with the Jags.
