  1. Give The bloke ago,

  2. this legend? had s*x with a girl who was the same age as his kids (uck) druged her up then she died.No gary No.They called him GOD but he is a DOG

  3. As a Cats supporter, I agree with GFC-B.

Explains a lot.  Including the constant mutterings up in the goal square ... "Now ... walk, chew gum, walk, breathe ... oh d**n wrong order, what'd the coach say again?"

But in seriousness didn't he come out about this years ago as the reason he was a born-again Christian etc etc?  Maybe he forgot :-S

We've got a history of Full Forwards like Ablett, Jacko Jackson etc.

  4. I know!!!!

Hopefully now he can knock some sense into Ben.

Maybe he wants to show everyone that you can get better.

As for his sons??? hmmmmm we will just have to wait and see.

  5. Being a Geelong member, Gaz Sr. always had a "spaced out" look on his face. Maybe that is why he played so freakish, he didn't know he was doing it.

That is a bad thing to write about the icon of the GFC.

I have always wanted to meet him, seeing Gaz and Billy kick goal after goal making the scoreboard look like a pinball machine got me on to Geelong as the club to follow when I discovered the game in the mid-80's.

Gaz still is so reclusive, I would not want to upset him if I just shook his hand and told him how he was a great footballer.

I hope Gaz Jr. and Nathan stay out of trouble. Their sister Natasha has had problems in her life.

Good luck to Gaz Sr. and may God bless him.

  6. well he is GOD

he is just making sure there is a place upstairs for himself

  7. I just wanted to say that I think the people having a go at him for using drugs to escape depression are probably not very well informed.

Its not as simple as 'oh well he could have just used legal drugs for depression'.  People with depression don't simply go to the doctors and get diagnosed with it.  They may not get diagnosed with it until after they beat it.

Its not just a condition its a way of life.  If something feels good, then people will do it.  To somebody with depression, if taking a particular drug makes them feel 'normal' then they will keep doing it.  Its not to get high, its to feel normal.

Just thought I would put that in because it sounds as though some people either have never known somebody with depression very well at all, or have never been educated on it.

  8. He probably decided to speak out about his drug use coz he's bringing out a book or something....

I can't believe he would blame his illegal drug use on depression.  It should be the other way around.  Too much drug use caused it.  Maybe he just mixed up anti depressants with cocaine....pffffft.

heatedwirez - I do talk from experience with depression.

  9. lol they are coming down right now please ask them again tomorrow

  10. Another one blaming depression for hitting the drugs.  There are lots of legal drugs to take if someone has depression. He is just taking the easy way out & making excuses for his weak behavior.

I'm more concerned for his kids. They don't need this sort of publicity at their stage of life. It will only put more pressure on them.

He has only made it public now, hoping to sensationalize & sell m ore copies of his book. What some people will do for money.

  11. You answered it yourself, its old news, don't change the fact that he was the best player I, myself ever saw, I'm not a cats man either but that guy could win a game on his own, that's a statement of fact not exaggeration either.    *  deedub, with you on this one mate, he said all this a couple of years back, get off his back, and leave his boys out of it, nothing to do with them. 'people in glass houses', I'm sure we have all done things wrong in our past, i know i have, time to move on.

  12. I have no problem with Garry Ablett Snr, I like to remember him as a player who provided great freakish entertainment on the footy field, and regardless of which team people followed, they would have loved to have him in there colours .    He has been hounded by the media for years, to write and tell his story, we all make mistakes, and he is trying to explain his, my attitude is read his story if you want, if not , leave him be what he is now, the father of 2 exceptionally talented Geelong Premiership players !
