The big deal is due to the carbon emissions contributing to global warming, otherwise, you are right, that is not news.

If that flight had been canceled then that airplane would not have been at the destination airport for the next flight.

Remember how that one snowstorm in New York screwed up air travel throughout the entire country?

I think I was on a flight once that had maybe a dozen passengers on it.  Big plane, too.

The airlines have to get the planes to where they're needed.  That plane with 5 people on it probably flew out the next day packed.  If the airline had not gotten the plane there, there would have been a lot of people upset about their cancelled flight.

I didn't hear about it but I have been on a few red-eye flights that were about as empty.

Me too.  It ignores the continuing idiocy of the airlines spoke and hub system that routes people from Oklahoma City to Nashville through Chicago, day in day out. etc etc.

I wonder how many fly on Gore's jet at one time?  Also, Pelosi took a government plane to Cali many times with a couple of people on it.

I think the bigger issue is why are there not more people on the plane. Are Americans taking less vacation and why?
