  2. Technically, slow or even negative growth has to last for two quarters to be classified as a recession. However, given what is happening in the economy today, I would be very surprised if we don't fall into one.

    --->  Increasing Jobless Rate

    --->  Decreasing Production

    --->  Bear Market in stock markets

    --->  Lack of confidence

    --->  Inflation

    --->  weak inflationary dollar that is keeping weak.

    --->  huge trade deficit and debt

    RECESSION!   Learn to live with it.

  6. Depends what country you are asking from. From your title, I think you might be from Venus Beach in California! No but seriously, I think the United States is definitely hitting hard times. When that bridge collapsed I thought: the United States is crumbling. China is still booming. Australia is experiencing a slight slow down (foot off) but certainly not a downturn.
