So, do the Red Sox have guts to do it?

Does Boston management have the guts to throw their Post-season chances down the drain?

Clearly, I see no reason why Manny should be traded. (And trust me, half of my family is full of Red Sox fans that force you to watch their games so I have seen Manny play consistently.) Only problem with Manny is that he is a headache. Like a grown-up kid, but If that "Grown-up kid" is going to take you to the post-season 3 times in the last 4 years and actually guide you to winning a WS twice I would keep the guy.

Seriously, The Red Sox are really getting me annoyed with this and I am glad that the trade deadline is tonight, lets see if they have the "Cojones" to throw away their Post-season success.

BONUS QUESTION: What do you think of the way to ask your question here on Y!A? I kinda like it, its much better than the old window you used to get.

  1. Yes they do.........................

  2. im sick of him. a 30 year old GUY starting drama threw the U.S? if hes gonna act like a teenage girl and start drama then id happy to get rid of him. i dought we'll trade him cuz like u said the deadline is tonight. how bout we wait till the end of the season and release him and get ben sheets or c.c. sabathia? and the new ahoo answering thing is kinda weird i hate how it has a spell check though cuz i dont care if i get something wrong

  3. Yea they sure have the guts.

The thing that I heard/think has the best chance being done is a 3 way deal where

Red Sox receive: Jason Bay, OF PIT

Marlins receive: Manny Ramirez, OF BOS

Pirates receive: 3 Marlin minor leaguers. Or possibly Hermida.

I would love to see the Red Sox get Bay basically in return for Manny because I think both are similar bats but Bay is much more durable, better defensively and won't be a distraction to the team. I however would not want them to trade Manny just for Hermida and a couple of minor leaguers.

  4. yes, manny wants to be traded for some S****y reason

  5. They aren't going to trade him.....I think. This happens every year, and I just can't take it seriously right now.

  6. Don't throw your family under the bus for your love of the Red Sox.  If the Red Sox feel they can win a championship with or without Manny then I support them.  The way I see it, in return for Manny they are getting a very good outfielder in Hermida who can hit for power and drive in runs and play hard everyday.  And by playing hard I don't mean rolling around in the outfield with a stupid grin on my face as I do it.  Manny being Manny is cute until a couple of runs are scored because of his child-like antics.  Even that will p**s off a few Red Sox fans.  They're not as dumb as they appear to be it seems.

  7. to me they will make the right choice by trading manny. He isnt the franchise of boston. to win championships u need to play like a team. Boston isnt a one player team.

  8. Manny has rings. So would you really put it past him to tank and sabotage his team? I mean what incentive does he have to give his all?

  9. I guess they do, but what a stupid move that would be

  10. No the Soxs will not trade Manny this year, and Yahoo answers rock!!

  11. I use to respect the Red Sox in the old days.  Those days with "Yaz" and "Dewey" and Rice.  They all played the game with pride and whether or not they won a world series was never the point.  They were respected..period.

Ever since the Sox won the world series they have shown little if any class.  Maybe it had to do with the fact they for 86 years they never had to worry about it.  Since they've won their franchise has been nothing but a soap opera.  No one player, including Manny, is bigger than the game.  The Red Sox, by not dealing this idiot away, shows that they could care less about the integrity of the team.  Manny doesn't give the Sox an automatic pennant or world series.  Man up Boston and get rid of this jerk!

  12. We already have no chances in the post season. Even if we make it we'll end up facing the Angels either in the ALDS or the ALCS, and this season, we're 1-8 against them. I'm not expecting us to go too deep into the playoffs anyway. But not only is Manny acting ridiculous off the field, he's also caused a huge fiasco that's gotten in the way of us making smaller trades for a bullpen guy or two.

BONUS: I haven't asked anything yet today, but I've answered a question and I like this new setup. I agree that it's better than the old window.

  13. I remember saying that there was no way that the Sox would ever get rid of Nomar, too.  Next thing I know, he's gone and the Sox win a WS.  There would have to be someone really good waiting in the wings to fill his spot (Matt Holliday was the only one I was thinking of and that ain't happening) or I see him in a Red Sox uniform for the rest of this year.

As for the window on YA, I like it.
