So, i have an older tv, and i need to figure out wich speakers are best to use?

so the back of my tv only has the red and white audio out holes and i need the audio in for my xbox. however, if i dont use speakers, the tv is ridiculously loud. i have some, but even when the volume is maxed out, it is but a whisper. any help and especially product suggestions would be great. thanks.

The red and white "audio out" jacks on the back of your TV are NOT speaker connections - they are supposed to feed into an amplifier or similar electronic device.  

You need (at the very least) a cheap stereo amplifier.  The "audio out" jacks on your TV fed to the input jacks on the amplifier, and the amp connects to your speakers.
