  1. You can call yourself a jelly doughnut if you like; that doesn't make you one.

  2. That would be really funny. Actually, I encourage it. Because then the Church would finally be against self-righteous pigs.

  3. Why not women get to call themselves goddess

  4. I'd say yes.  I often think of men as gods.  Usually preceded by the word "s*x".  The word "Adonis" frequently springs into my mind too.  (I don't think he was technically a god, but he was an important mythological character.)

I assume you weren't looking for the long and technical answer about patriarchy, ideology and monotheism?

By all means refer to yourself as a god.  I may have to ask you to prove it :)

  5. yeah I was a little ticked that you added your comment to my "best" answer and then I couldn't respond....

My answer is YES, if a man wants to call himself a "god" why not?

You act like no man has ever done that before!  LOL

As long as he knows other men may also feel they are 'gods' too, and he's not superior to them, OR women who think they are goddesses or not.  Everyone has the right to feel good about themselves. Just don't have the right to lord it over others, that's all.

  6. It depends what they mean by Gods. If they actually believe they are omnipotent and need to be worshiped then it's insulting egotistical and sacrilegious. Most people just use it in a joking matter such as they are video game Gods to imply they are very good at video games.

  7. A person can call themselves whatever they want so I think it's ok.

Me being a pagan Egyptian there are many Gods and Goddesses but I can't call myself one because I would be disrespecting my Gods and Goddesses.

I don't want Bastet to hate me. (Goddess, protector of women and children)

  8. Uh, not in the Catholc Church! Wouldn't be ok there!

  9. Why not? What's sauce for the goose...

  10. You probably need to ask the one who gave that silly answer.

  11. No, megalomania is not tolerated in men.

  12. I guess if he wants to he can, but we would have to face the whole blasphemy charge.  Blasphemy was a concept created by men, so I guess they have to deal with it.
