....reducing energy and consumption out of patriotism during wartime? That's what happened during WWII, isn't it?

As a BushHitlerburton NeoConRepug, I'm motivated to consume less because I'm cheap!

I ask the family to use cloth towels (not paper), to turn off the lights when anyone leaves a room for an extended period of time, to pass clothes and sports equipment from one kid to the next when they're not worn out or hyper-foul, to turn down the heat, to eat leftovers until the fridge is bare, etc.

However, it's not to please you, Earth First or Leo DiCaprio.  It's to save a buck.

That's true but apparently they aren't lacking for anything right now are they? Critical shortages of metals and consumables led to rationing and collection drives sponsored by Uncle Sam. Not a small wing ding outfit.

They also sold War Bonds. Would you buy one of them?
