  1. I think that in the long run, he wil be driving the #3 car. But in the beginning, until he gets his feet wet, he will be in the 21

  2. I think its a possibility. Richard Childress did vow that a black #3 car with GM Goodwrench as sponsor would not race again (least as long as he has controlling interest in the number).

Though if that was to happen, it'll be a pretty unpopular move. Sure, some would love to see a number 3 of any sort on the track again, but most would say much like how Teresa wanted to keep the 8 to the Earnhardts, even though that was Richard's long time number, most consider that an Earnhardt number as well and as such only an Earnhardt should use it.

  3. they discussed this today on "nascar now" and they didn't know. talk is they could bring the #3 back to nationwide, but childress didn't want to do so until he could be sure he could put him in competitive equipment, which they translated as "something that could compete with the toyotas." they followed that up by talking about the availability of the #21, which currently has no sponsorship.

although i can believe that childress would consider bringing the #3 back to the nationwide series for his grandson, i can't believe he would use it as a "platform" from which to "attack" toyota/jgr.  i don't think dale sr. would have backed down from the challenge of taking his #3 and racing it against anyone.

    jmo.
