Now, i don't mean this to sound selfish, but i very rarely give money when passing a homeless person - i can barely afford to live in London myself!!

But i think after watching it last night, if someone asks me for money, i would buy them a sandwich and a cuppa rather than give them the money.

  1.   I've always looked at the homeless differently than most do.  I've known homeless people with Ph.D's, master's degrees, come from wealthy families, etc.

I was homeless for a semester in college due to a friend who betrayed me and kept an entire semester of rent money I paid to him.  But yeah, people looked down on me as being needy, lazy, uneducated, lacked job skills, etc.  But I never begged for money, I'm not a drug addict or an alcoholic, and I have a college education, and was STILL going to school at the time.  It only goes to show, don't believe everything you see or hear, and assume nothing.

  2. Not just a "secret millionaire" but, a 'spiritual' trillionaire as well. One of God's chosen people.

  3. I Couldn't Help laughing at the little cardboard house that man and his wife made.

I Felt Sorry For The Ones who came to London from ireland.

  4. I don't think a TV programme will make people look at homeless people differently because people need to look at them in the first place.

  5. Not at all.

  6. honestly i don't pay attention to homeless people.. i'm not that much of a mean person but i think they should get a job and that is the best thing for them in the end.. i wouldn't mind giving them the paper where it says jobs needed. but honestly where i live most homeless people are not really homeless they do have homes and they do have money and alot of them send their kids on the streets to get them money.. i think that's just sick.. and i have seen a woman PRETEND her kid was handicapped and they looked really homeless.. and after someone gave them money.. couple of minutes later they BOTH got up and walked ... well.. that's one story i have that makes me reallly think before thinking about helping a homeless person..

  7. yea i feel sorry for them but theres not much i can do as im only 14

  8. s***w 'em

  9. I doubt it.

I've been homeless; I know what it's like to have to sleep on the street, and search wastebins for food, and I know how most people 'look at' homeless people.

    Simply put, they DON'T.

Homeless people are effectively invisible most of the time; people will step over them, walk round them, ignore their pleas, but they won't ever actually LOOK at them, or pay them any attention, unless they're forced to.

  10. so many of them I just cant help not feeling sorry for them, most of them its through their own fault! like that illegal immigrant, of course we arent going to let you sign on and get our money for nothing!and he was incredibly drunk!

  11. I don't even know what "The Secret Millionaire" is. (It sure ain't me!)

  12. I only saw a bit of it and it did make me sad.......when I lived in London and used to walk by tower bridge right up to westminster used to see loads of homeless and made me feel awful.  One particular guy I used to buy him a cup of tea and  a sandwich loads of times & another guy would get him a milkshake or something.  People forget that these people are human and something went so bad in their lives and unfortunately ended up on the streets.  It really is not a nice sight to see people sleeping on cardboard under a bridge, just wish was something I could do to help.......but luckily there are some people who care and offer their time to help voluntarily.....some people are too quick to judge, you never know what is around the corner in life.....

  13. ive never looked at a homeless person as being any less than me, on countless occasions (espically the ones with dogs) ill stop and have a chat with them, ive met some really cool people doing that, just because someones homeless it doesnt make them any less of a person or potential friend.

even when i used to be on the doll, id still give any spare change in my pocket whether it was 20p or £2.

I guess thats because my mum has always been the same, and as a child we would walk through the streets and stop and talk to the people,

a guy that was homeless i knew because my mate had befriended him while i was living at my mates, and he used to come over all the time, does DJing at raves and stuff.

so just because someone has no home, doesnt mean their not interesting to get to know

and to people who say they should get a job, its not that easy, its not like they have a suit laying under their cardboard box, or an address or bank details they can hand a potential employer, if you was an employer would you really give a job to a homeless person who walked into your business stinking because he doesnt have a shower to bathe, and in torn clothes??

they should start a center, get people to donate old suits and stuff and the homeless can go their get bathed up and suited up and then be handed potential interviews, and they can use the centre as their living address. but no one can be bothered to help because everyones to busy thinking these people need to get a job, and forget to think that maybe they need abit of help to do it.
