So, should I be upset because I'm a size 0?

I'm sick of hearing people say 'aw, you're so tiny. Are you like a size 0?'. And I politely say 'Yes, I am' and change the topic. I'm 4'11, and a size 0. I know I need to gain a little weight, and I honestly try to, because I WANT to, but it seems that people just stare sometimes because I'm so tiny. I hate it!

I walked in my office today and was hoping I could go thru one day w/out someone mentioning that, but it didn't happen: Got called out by a co-worker.

Don't get me wrong, I'm think I'm proportionate to my body, and I do think I'm a pretty girl, but I would kill for some hips and curves! Why are some people making such a big deal about this? It's all heredity...

  1. You are healthy and you are happy, that's all that matters.  Maybe some of the people who comment on your size are just jealous.

  2. Uuggh, I feel you! I've been really skinny for most of my life (not so noticeably now since I'm approaching 40, but am 5 ft 6 & still a size 2 or 4). People don't understand that just as some people are blonde, brunette, and some are redheads, some people are thin, some are more "meaty," and many are in between.

For years, before I started lifting weights to put on mass, people would ask me, "How can you be so thin? Are you anorexic? Do you eat?" After 30 or so years of being asked that, even by people I'd just met, I began to get "snippy" with people and let them know they were inappropriate. When someone said, "You're sooo skinny! What are you, anorexic? Eat a cookie," I'd say,..."Wow, you know, I think that was meant as a compliment, but it really sounded more like an insult. Do you also ask bald people if they have cancer?" That usually shut them up.

Just think of it this way: 20 or 30 years from now, you will probably still be petite and attractive, and won't have to work nearly as hard to maintain your fitness as all those other people who give you a hard time!

  3. Enjoy it while you can! I've heard that when you have kids that it changes. I'm small, too. Except I'm 5'2", size 2 or 3, and 98 pounds. Right now, I'm just enjoying it, because I'm still young.

Some people make a big deal because they envy you. They wish they were your size. It's good to be shorter. People might view you as younger for a longer period of time. You could be 50, and people might guess way under your age. It's a great thing!

  4. You should be happy the way you are because I'm sure you beautiful. I'm a zero too, but do not get much attention for it. I'm tiny (a little over 5 feet) and have very small hips. I am by no means fat but no one calls me skinny because I have big b***s.

I could see how that could be annoying but I would say something like I know I try not to eat more food than I burn in a day. You should be happy you are so thin because so many people are like unhealthily obsessed with it. Those people don't realize that making body comments is rude no matter what you say.

  5. I would just be thankful!

I'm 5'8 and 175 lbs...pizza is my favorite food and don't think I pay for every single slice!!

People are just jealous...enjoy what you have been given!!!
