This question was asked several minutes ago. Some of you said that Jesus was just a man. Well, if that is what you think, then answer me this. How can an ordinary man turn water into wine? Really. Have you ever seen a regular, everyday man turn water into wine? I haven't? Also, can a random guy from the street walk on water? Hmm??

Obviously, there is something wrong with your argument. An everyman could not do these things. Therefore, Jesus was not an everyman.

Others said that Jesus was just a fictional character. Oh come on, now, who would make up a character like Jesus? There is no way that could be a fictional story. Writers come up with some wild stuff, but never anything like Jesus.

  1. I've seen Penn and Teller turn water into wine, and many more amazing things.

A man who turns water into wine is god

Therefore, you must bow down to Penn and Teller

  2. You would have a point, if there was any evidence that A) Jesus actually existed, and B) that the Gospels were eyewitness accounts of his life.

Regardless of what Christians assert, there is not a single account of Jesus that was written by anyone that knew him.  The Gospels were written around 40 years after his Crucifixion and the earliest writer that mentions Him would have been a toddler living in Rome when He was crucified .

There have been many characters in various religions and mythologies (predating the time that Jesus lived) that are very similar.enough to say that the whole Jesus story was fabricated on other stories.  Simply, Jesus is not an unique character.

  3. Sir, there is absolutely no evidence to support a historical Jesus.

He is just the main character in the second part of the book of  the Christian religious mythology.

This myth itself was a retelling of several preceding religious myths, in particular the Sol Invictus cult of Mithraism.

Every mention in the historical record of the Jesus fellow either comes from the church itself, it`s elders, or is, like the Josephus tract, recognised by all and sundry, including Christian church sources, as a forgery.

  4. I think Jesus is another incarnation in a long line of Sun gods, born to a virgin, and sacrificed to attone for the sins of humanity.

Not only is Jesus a complete fabrication, he is unoriginal.

  5. Occam's Razor....Answer me this.

    A. He was miraculous and was God's son and was magical and was so awesome and helped so many people and all this happened without any public contemporaneous historical records...

    or...

    B. It was written 200+ years later as a myth

The correct answer is usually the most simple answer.

  6. Ancient Zeus, Mithrias, and Horus did similar things like Jesus.

  7. could it be that... maybe he didn't turn water into wine?

Beowulf was kind of like Jesus, he was a pretty big bad ***.

maybe he didn't walk on water?

If he really did that stuff, if he were really so amazing, it's surprising to me that the information we have now is still debatable. if it were fact, we wouldn't be able to debate about it.

but maybe he did do all those things :) one can never doubt that possibility.

  8. Have you ever seen a regular, everyday man turn water into wine? I haven't.

Have you seen Jesus do it either?  No, you haven't the only "evidence" of this is in a book written hundreds of years ago.  Other books written hundreds of years ago also contain erroneous "facts".

Also, can a random guy from the street walk on water? Hmm??

I saw Chriss Angell walk across Lake Mead, Sink below the waves, and appear completely dry on the shore.  Magic tricks does not make someone the SON OF GOD.  HMMM?

    --------------------------------------...

Oh come on, now, who would make up a character like Jesus?

Who would make up a character like Superman?  Or Batman?  Or George dubya Bush?  L. Ron Hubbard turned a failed science fiction novel into a cash cow Religion.  Your argument doesn't hold water, now does it?

  9. I've seen a man pull a rabbit out of a hat....

  10. "Writers come up with some wild stuff, but never anything like Jesus"

Have you never heard of Horus or Mitras?

  11. HAHAHAHHA are you freaking serious man? Then let me ask you this. How can Harry Potter levitate a book or zap black creatures wearing cloaks?

  12. There is not one single mention of Jesus in the entire Roman record - that is right - not one!!! At the same time as he was supposed to have been around there were a number of Jews claiming to be the messiah - all of whom are well recorded!!

Outside of the bible he is not mentioned in anything until many years after his supposed death!!

Therefore it looks like all your claims cannot be true!!

  13. so if you have never actually seen a man turn water into wine then how can you say its possibe? I also do not think ANY man can or ever will walk on water and actually think its rediculous that you do.

also lots of people can make up fictional characters like jesus you shouldnt be amazed at what humans can do.

  14. he cant soldier, he cant

  15. Have you seen David Blaine or any other illusionist?  They are ordinary men.  There is also a possibility the whole story is a lie.

You must not read much fiction or sci-fi people have created all kinds of stuff much wilder that Jesus.  What about every super-hero in our American nomenclature?

  16. I wonder which poster is the Shari Lewis to your Lambchop...
