According to the link below he is the dude that started a chain store of bakeries called Gardenia Bakeries back in the 80's

There used to be one in Kuching (Tabuan Jaya) which I used to visit at least twice a week, but it was competing with dozens of coffee shops and food stalls etc and closed down within a year which was a shame..

Do you mean Harland David Sanders aka Colonel Sanders (September 9, 1890 – December 16, 1980), of Kentucky Fried Chicken fame? Well, if so, he was the American entrepreneur who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC).

As for Horatio, I believe it should be Horatio 'Sye' Slocumm. He started the first Gardenia bakery in 1969.
