So.... Besides me, anyone else bored with the SC Finals?

In my opinion, the games have been rather lackluster and quite frankly, dull. I watch on CBC and NBC, and h**l, the announcers couldn't even draw me in.

I'm NOT a Pens or Wings fan, so my opinion would not differ if the Pens were up 3-1.

Fans of Detroit and Pittsburgh, your votes don't count. Michigan folks should be used to not having their vote count. Well, at least half of you. D'oh!

  1. I am a Montreal fan as you all know. Game 4 could have gone either way, and thanks to Kronwall's blunder the Pens have a good chance of taking tonight's game. That said Game 6 in Pittsburgh looms on the horizon. And if the Pens win that it all comes down to a Game 7 with the Stanley Cup on the line ..

  2. compared to what? Two of the most exciting teams in the NHL meeting to duke it out. The over hyped media darling is getting shut down. Both teams have tons of history and real fans (no really the pens do have REAL fans)...I think this series couldnt be better.  I was sick of seeing teams like Carolina and Tampa making it to the finals...

  3. For the most part its been a blowout and the Pens coach looking skyward at trying to figure out how to stop the Wings O and the announcers still talk about how well Crosby has been playing.I think if he wins the Conn Smythe trophy although I don't think he will whats the over/under for people ripping the NHL on here?10 for tonight?

  4. I agree completely.

The games just don't have that Stanley Cup feel. I'm glad it's not just me, I can't even feign excitement, the Wings are better, pure and simple. There really hasn't been any drama whatsoever. Oh well... At least I've got the Presidential Candidates daily blunders to keep me entertained.

  5. I think it is because you don't like either team.  I am not really digging the finals as many of the people on here, but then again my most beloved team has been golfing for months now.  lol.

By the way, I love the Dead Kennedys, as well.  Either you like Jello Biafra's voice or you don't...definitely one of those styles that can't be duplicated.

  6. I'm in the same boat as you I could care less who wins out of these two teams. But I totally have to disagree with you If you where not on the edge of your seat in the last 5 minutes of that game(not even mentioning the other 55 action packed minutes) then you must have been looking out the widow and depending on the announce team to keep you in it.

  7. I agree. The finals are kinda boring, with one sided leads and such. Where's the fight?

But I do want the wings to win, because i don't think sidney crosby deserves the cup just yet.

  8. I watched the game on Saturday and I thought it was pretty exciting.  Both teams seemed to be playing pretty hard.

  9. I am as well. As a few others have mentioned, it just doesn't feel like its the cup finals. For me, I think it has to do with the fans. The fans at JLA are very dull and it feels like it is a regular season game, and the penguins fans are better, but it doesn't compare with Edmonton when they were in the finals, or some of the teams last season.

  10. Being a Wings fan I have loved the results obviously, but honestly I disagree. The games have been tight, the checking and tempo are there...what else is there? As a true hockey fan I don't care what announcers say- heck I even turn th volume off some times.

  11. I blame the Pens for not showing up.

  12. I am not bored. It is just you for the most part. I thought it would be much more of a closer battle though

  13. Even though I am a Pens fan, I am bored because of the Pens lackluster showing versus the Red Wings.

  14. Game 3 was very exciting, as were the first two periods of game 4.  I think that this is exciting, but it just isn't living up to the billing.  The "experts" were predicting the best series ever, but they have seriously overrated the Pens competitiveness.

I have to say that I am really tired of hearing the whining from the Pens as well as Eddie O about the lack of obstruction calls on Detroit.  The Pens are used to the special treatment they get all season, and when games are called resonably fairly, they have a hissy fit over the introduction on balance in the officiating.  Watching goons like Roberts take cheap head shots at Franzen without any calls, and the Pens complain.  I am really impressed with the whole Detroit organization and their professionalism.  I wish my Isles could emulate them!

  15. It beats the h**l outa Anaheim and Ottawa from last year.

  16. im a little bored too, not as exciting as they should be

  17. Ha, that's a good one.  s***w the primaries, worthless c**p.  From an entertainment point of view i thought the two games in Pittsburgh were very fast paced and entertaining... I know my heart was in my throat for the entire games.

  18. I believe this is a great stanley cup final. The first two games showed that the pens weren't this ultimate machine that the media tried to say before the series. The last two games have been really close. The games could have gone either way. There have been some outstanding performances for the leaders of both teams. There have been the hits and this series is not lacking in the physical aspect. I don't know what more you can ask out of this series.
