So Cal Earthquake Soon???

hey everyone--

this is pretty crazy weather we have been having... we havent had a big earthquake in a long time. Does anyone think were going to have one soon?? Im terrified of earthquakes but i guess theres always a price to pay for living in a beautiful state. Does anyone have an earthquake kit? Im thinking of making one...What is everyones opinion on this?

Don't not worry about that. You can prepare for it by always have spare water and food. Have a fire extinguisher (how you spell?!). If you absolutely know a earthquake is coming, stay away from power lines and try to park you car away from building and power lines.

well if you haven't figured it out yet, earthquakes have absolutely nothing to do with the weather. so the weather we've been having here in socal does not make us prone to having an earthquake soon.... no more prone than we would be anyway.

whether it rained today or not, there could be an earthquake later tonight or there could not be one for 30 years. nobody knows. earthquakes are totally unpredictable. the weather shows no foresight into when they might occur.

its not even if someone 'thinks" there might be one. there might be, there might not be. its as simple as that. making an earthquake kit is a great idea though and i highly recommend it. have a first aid kit, some food and water and a fire extinguisher like someone else mentioned. be prepared now because you NEVER know when the next quake may be!!

I have lived here all my life (and boy its a long time)! There has been so many wild weather times when my Grandma would always say  "this is earthquake weather", but we never had one. Also I can't count how many times they have been predicted and never happened. This is just one thing no one can predict yet. We have food in a box for our kit, but that is all. I'm afraid we are terribly lax about getting serious on making those kits up. I continue to tell myself to get it done and yet still........I am not afraid and that's probably why I keep procrastinating. But it's just dumb to not be prepared.You should put together a kit for your cars and a box for oudoors just as it's recommended. You will feel much better and in more control! Maybe I'll even motivate myself!!!
