  1. I migrated to Australia in March, after spending most of adult life trying get get out of Britain. Canada was my second choice destination, though that is partly due to my girlfriend being from Toronto! Canada's a brilliant country, much more diverse and tolerant than the USA, and MUCH better than the UK. Yes it's cold in winter, but during winter it wasn't exactly tropical in Saddleworth where I lived in England . And in Canada they get great summers-I can live with cold winters if I have the guarantee of a hot summer to look forward to.

I'm surprised at Kamran's answer, he's usually a lot more considered with his replies. I love animals, but if cruelty to animals was a criteria to avoid a country then that would rule out roughly 3/4 of the globe!

  2. its a bit hypocritical in a way, some people are complaining about the immigration levels yet immigrate themselves to another country.

Though nice offer but until Canada stops killing seals its a no from me

  3. Sounds interesting, even for Americans. But Canada is cold! A lot of Asians who get into Canada eventually give in and move to the US for the warmer weather.

  4. Well I have been to Canada 32 times, (work mostly) and if I was younger I would not hesitate, Canada is a wonderful country, personally I cannot sing it's praises highly enough.

It is clean, sparsely populated (lots of room to move) great for kids and adults alike.

If you work hard you are guaranteed the rewards of your efforts.

Back in 1985, I was offered a job as Chief Engineer in a works in Kingston Ontario, I did not take up the offer ................ the worst mistake that I have ever made in my life!

  5. If I was younger - in a heartbeat! When I was eighteen (many moons ago!) - my aunt, who'd emigrated many years previously, invited me to go to Canada. She'd have put me up in a flat until I'd got myself sorted and also arranged employment for me. I said no and I think it was a big mistake cos I could really have made something of myself. But what's the point of looking back? I had my chance and didn't take it but I'm happy with my life as it is.  Younger people with the required experience should jump at this chance!

  6. I'd definitely consider it if my partner and I hadn't already agreed to move to the West Coast (S Oregon or N California) in about 9/10 years ...
