  1. its not about being a crank. its just a matter of practicality.

    try this:

open any 5 links (different sites) with IE.

Time the load times with a stopwatch.

Open the same 5 sites with Firefox.

    Time them.

    Compare the times.

You will see that firefox saves you quite a bit of time over just 5 urls. Some links will be similar speed. Some will be a h**l-load quicker.

Think about it. During the course of a reasonable time spent on the net, you might visit 20, 30, 50 pages. When you add it all up, its a lot of time saved.

I used to think all the speed stuff was garbage until I did this test and then did the maths. The fact is FF is faster.

I dont know how much time you have to watch pages load. Personally, I would rather be using it for other things.

If thats being a 'crank' in your estimation, Fine, I'll wear the hat.

And if after doing this, you opt to stick with IE, what does that make you?

  2. I use IE8 BETA 2--and FIREFOX 3--i had small problems with the beta recently, but used--MALWAREBYTES to get rid of two malware tools in my PC,everything is good now.The main bone of contention is--how many default cookies each browser has.The speed is fairly important, but you need the absolute seek and find ability in any browser above all else. That is what i judge a browser on/by.Can it find what i am looking for and in how much informative detail.

  3. IE8 leaves Firefox standing for speed opening pages ETC I use them both IE8 much better
