  1. Go into a camera store with your own SD card and try them both.  The Canon XSi is a newer camera than the Nikon D40x ... did you now that?  The Nikon D60 is the competition to the XSi.  Test these two cameras to make things fair.

After you have used both, go home with your card and look at the images on your nice big screen ... much better than trying to decide looking on a tiny 2 or 3' screen.  Be sure to shoot at the highest and lowest ISO, different white balance settings and with each of the exposure modes (Aperture, shutter speed, Program and manual)

  2. in would choose the canon xsi

    it has the advantage

    12.2 megapixel

    3" LCD

    Live view function

    Anti-dust cleaning system

    kit lens include image stablizer

    3.5fps shooting

i own a canon xsi and it's really good!

  3. I think canon is better because It new model and new technology than d40 at same price .I founded cheap canon xsi kit from http://astore.amazon.com/canon.eos.slr.d...

only $837.71 this price is include lens and free shipping .I think It's very best price.

  4. you can also try nikon d60
