Ok I used to a big alcoholic and I hadn't drink in 3 years. My buddy invited me over his house to play xbox on thursdays. It all started out with couple beers but then it turn into madness. I have not yet been sober in over 72 hours. It just started to ware off but I drank everyday until I would passout. I would wake up drunk the next day and continue the drinking. I'm actually somewhat scare that I might turn into the old me. Should I be concern or should I look at it like a bump in the road. Should I be mad at my friends for letting me go back to my ways? Do you think I should go straight to AA before the addiction starts again. Some please give me advice. I know I have problems but please only serious answers.

  1. Stand firm.

You don't need to be angry at your friends... yet.

If you feel that you are slipping back into the dangerous path of waking up drunk, drinking, and falling asleep again, then you need to step out of it, you don't want to go back down there.

So If you feel as if your being drawn in and are gonna have a drinking problem again say no. Tell your friends you feel as if you're gonna get that addiction again and you don't want it. They should understand.

    If they dont

    You need new friends.

  2. It's not your friends fault but if they knew that you had a problem with alcohol and they didn't try to stop you from drinking, well.... maybe not such good friends, but that aside, get to AA! You know that's where you need to be. I wish you the best of luck.

  3. It does sound like you might be falling back into your old ways.  You should nip this behavior at the bud.  Talk to someone about it (not your friends), and go to a meeting.  It's not worth risking it, because you don't seem to be happy with the person you once were.  Good Luck.
