I'm 175, 5'7'' and I'm trying to lose all of this weight by October 18th, 2009. How many pounds, say each week should I lose to reach this goal? Plus any tips, tricks or exercises. I had rheumatic fever as a child, so any hard cardio is out the window for me, its just too painful.

  1. You know what? Sky is the limit....

Hope you loose all the unnecessary fat!

    Best wishes

  2. i'm an advocate for healthy eating and moderate exercise.

cut out sodas, fast food, snacks, and any "junk" food and things should happen naturally.  also, cut out alcohol (unless it's carb-free white liquor, like rum or vodka).

pick up your exercise routine.  check with a personal trainer to devise a healthy plan that works around your health needs.

2-3 lbs per week is usually the standard for healthy losing.

check with a doctor and/or nutritionist FIRST -- they can help you make the most healthy decisions for weight loss goals...

  3. EDIT

My mistake with the first answer.  I didn't see the "09".  That is actually a very good goal.  You only need to lose about 3 to 4 pounds a month, which is very realistic.

Keeping a food journal really does help.  It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.

Make a few small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days.  Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer.

Start a weight lifting routine. It will help increase your metabolism and make you feel and look better in so many ways. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall.

In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish.   Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts.  Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy.  Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses a day, and more if it is very hot, it you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely. You will begin to see changes in your body.

  4. I believe that you will have to push yourself too hard to reach your goal, so be careful.

    1. Wake up early, go to bed earlier.

    2. Drink 32 ounces of green lightly sweetened tea to start your day.

    3. Consume 6 - 8 smaller meals, high in protein, vegetable and fruit.

    4. Drop the bread and cake.

    5. Consume additional water intermittently throughout the day.

    6. Start a high repetition, light weight, minimal rest between sets, weight lifting program to be performed 4 days per week.

    7. Keep smiling :) and start today!

  5. You should give this product a shot. It's called Acai Berry and it's new on the market, but already endorsed by people like Oprah! I just ordered a free 14-day trial from this site.. do it today! you won't regret it!

  6. do u have a treadmill? or a gym close by? you can check the calories you burn on the treadmill, and try to keep it close to the amount of calories you eat per day. then you will lose the weight very fast. drink 2 litres of water a day and nothing else. good luck!
