I called and said "well I don't know how you feel about this, but I think we should just call it a wrap." (I'm 500 miles away right now, so meeting in person is NOT an option.)
He said a few words (Yeah...well I could kinda see that...yeah...) and then said, after a short silence, "could we talk about this later? It's not that I don't want to talk, but I just bought a new car and it's a stick shift, so it's kind of hard to drive and talk at the same time."
So, the conversation ended there after a short goodbye.
I thought about it for a minute.
And then I called back and said: "Well, I understand that it's hard for you to talk and drive, but I need the closure, so I'm gonna just say it's over from here. And if you want to call back and talk later, that's fine, but...we're done."
He just says "ok, that's fine," really nonchalant or whatever.
So I said bye and hung up. I feel relieved. And that conversation just proves that I should've done it a long time ago.
What do you think?
