So I found a spider the other day and it looks exactly like a yellow garden spider but it was at least 6" long

Well i looked on the internet to find out what it was and I saw pictures of the yellow garden spider and that is exactly what it looked like but all the websites I went to said that the female only gets to be about 1 inch long and the spider I saw was definiatly larger than one inch. It was maybe the size of my foot. I'd say it was close to 6 inches in length I think it might just have been a really large garden spider but if anyone knows what it could have been please let me know. Thanks!

That sounds really amazing and scary!  You said you checked the internet but just in case you didnt try... whatsthatbug... Ive always found all the creepy crawlers I couldnt identify on there. If you have a picture they are happy to find it for you if they don't know what it is. Sounds pretty weird whatever it was!

Is this it, a banana spider, I think they are kind of cool. We had one outside our window all summer one year. Picture of spider in human hand, huge spider.
