I've got a job at a nearby hotel and going to be working at the restaraunt, serving people food and if help is needed going to the bar too!

I'm really nervous and been getting worries that I'm going to spill food and drinks everywhere so are there any tips that people can give? Words of advice to calm my nerves too... lol

  1. Just look smart, act smart and always be polite to the customers. Your nerves will ease when you settle in and remember we all make mistakes we are only human. If you follow the first 3 steps the customers will make you feel like friends you never knew you had. Best of luck this is the advice i got when i started out in the same industry

  2. first of all you have to control yourself getting nervous, it's easy to say I know that that's all you can do. then you have to smile is a relax way not constipated way. you look where to put your feet when you are serving, then don't carry all the orders in your hand the first day unless you are already expert. the first day would be stressful then the second day will be a little bit better, then week after you feel great like if you have been working already donkeys of years and you want to have your retirement.

  3. im having exactly the same issue i work in a 5 star hotel and im always worried about dumping some oones dinner in their lap... but you just have to practice holding the plates between your fingers and walk as fast as you can with out spilling the food coz the faster the food is out the sooner you can stop worrying about it
