But when ever I try to go into user accounts it asks me for my username, password, and domain? I have tried to change the password but it will not let me and I have also tried going through the command prompt. I have windows XP. I also got the password from my friend but I dont think it goes with what I am doing...I have yet to find out what that password does. It also says that I must be a member of an administrator group to access user acounts. Any suggestions...?

  1. Lots of options...

    Download a password recovery application

    Re-install windows

Boot to safe mode Administrator has a default blank password and edit the user accounts from there.

There are more oprions but hey...

My personal choice would be to attempt to boot to safe mode and failing that download Cain and Able... install the server then click the plus sign in the client to view all passwords stored on the system.

  2. You will probably need to reformat it.  If you do not have a master CD your computer can probably burn  the master CD that's needed to reformat it.

The software that is needed to reformat your drive is normally kept on your D: drive so leave it alone.

  3. format it and start from scratch
