  1. Eish, I'll be starting my work to achieve my BA in archaeology next semester.  I only know about ten of those things.  Hope I'm not missing something.  Hope you do well.

  2. babble on about growing up in new guinea with margaret mead.

    the arapesh and the mundugamors and how some took it to be a political/philosophical work rather than a true anthropological study because she so pointedly drew the distiction between aggressive and non-aggressive societies.  the arapesh were the good guys. the mundugamors were mean and spiteful.

    don't forget to mention that sigmund was a less than beloved father.

    impress the prof by reading a work tittled: man and apes by eugene marais ( if you can possibly find it - it is a fascinating read ) who studied and lived with a tribe of chacma apes in south africa between 1902 and 1906.  he never returned alive but his manuscript was stolen and falsely pubished by maeterlinck ( the one who did the ant studies in africa )  and   the proof of maeterlinck's deceit was not recognized until 1962 .

    good luck

    you'll do fine

    as long as you remember to mention too that g dumbya hasn't evolved yet.

  3. Let's see if I can help, since I'm a Ph.D. candidate in anthropology.  I don't have time to answer them all, but I can give you the proper responses to the first six:

    Apollonian vs. Dionysian = listen to Rush song, "Hemispheres"

    Beagle = a kind of dog, somewhat hyperactive

    Benedict = a way to eat your eggs in the morning (yummy!)

    Boas = many constricting snakes

    Censure of Boas = "You are very bad snakes."

    Civil War = everyone says 'please' and 'thank you' during  battle

    At this point you should be realizing that not only can't you trust what people are going to put up here, but you should probably study and actually learn these things like the rest of us did.

    Have an anthropo-wonderful day!

    I didn't mean to impugn your intentions, but you didn't really ask us a question.  You simply gave us a list of names/terms that will be on your upcoming exam, with the point that you will be expected to identify and give their importance.  Since you didn't actually ask anything, I assumed that you wanted people to answer them for you.  Did you actually want feedback on the validity of this type of questioning for an exam?  If you didn't want people to do the work for you, then why did you just replicate your exam question?

    In closing, you can learn about human behaviour, including your own, even when you don't get the answers you are looking for.
