Also, when do you think he'll come out of retirement again? I say he'll be back within a couple of years. Your thoughts?

  1. I heard some reports that he didn't like being benched --- and I don't blame him.

If he doesn't want to play anymore, then that's that.

However, in the off season I wouldn't be suprised if he went to a possible playoff team in need of a starting goaltender.

There's nothing worse than being put out to pasture by your team when you still have it.

    He might be back

  2. It's not like everyone didn't see this coming. The moment he was pulled during the San Jose series and replaced with Osgood, I knew he was going to retire. He's not going to be the backup goaltender. Not Hasek.

Jay: Hasek contributed to winning the cup through his play in the regular season, but I doubt he takes much pride in Detroit winning the Stanley Cup since they had to bench him during the playoffs for Osgood to do it.

  3. Dom is a roller coaster. The poor guys career had more ups and downs then Space Mountain. I will be extremely surprised if the old dog comes back again. He hung around got a cup now it's time to go back on the rocking chair. Not to mention with all the floundering he does in net, not even Viagra can get him back up in the crease lately.

  4. he should retire a sabre

  5. he's 42, i think hes done for good

  6. Seriously. I had the news on last night and I overheard it...didn't really care.  I think this might be one last shot a getting some attention seeing as he was a back up for the cup this year. If he comes back next year, I think that will finish his career, though.

  7. The third time is a charm.

  8. hes done. his announcement is in 12 minutes. if he does come back i hope to h**l its not with the wings

  9. I think he really means it this time because since he won the cup, it'd be cool to go out on top.

  10. Hasek should just be a goaltending consultant or conditioner and work with ozzie as a goalie coach. He may be washed up, but he was one of the best.
