Question:

So I permed my hair and.....?

I permed my hair about a week ago and I bought some of this good stuff, that Sally Beauty Supply recommended, and did it myself. I did everything right. And, my hair feels so hard and brittle in the back, and I can see strands of hair coming out of my head when I wash and brush it! I've deep conditioned, shampooed, and conditioned my hair so many times, it's not helping. Any ideas of what to do? Thanks.

  1. Perming your hair by yourself is not a good idea.  You probably overprocessed it, or your hair was too unhealthy to be permed to begin with.  Also, I don't recommend Sally Beauty perm product because they are not quality, so that could also be the problem you are dealing with.  Chances are your hair is dead and really won't be back to normal until all the permed hair has grown out.  You can continue to deep condition it and that will help a little over time.

  2. did you leave it in 2 long

  3. call a local hairdresser and tell them evrthing you have done and the will tell you what you need to do to help your hair

  4. Email me  the type of hair u have... b/c thts all i need to know to help u,, i have had MANY perms... my hairs has been EXTREMELY damaged and i brought it back to life.

  5. never perm your hair yourself

  6. go to a beauty shop!

    they can help

    good luck

  7. The bits falling out are the new ones growing so ina few more weeks your perm will ware off.

When you get a perm and the curls start to loosen this usually only shows when your hair is dry so after the shower use curl enhancing or activating mousse and gels. These help your curls show even more

  8. It is impossible to put the curlers in correctly at the back of your head if you doing it by yourself. It sounds they have been put in at an angle that has broken your hair near the root.

Unfortunately there is nothing more you can do apart from putting it a treatment and hoping for the best.

  9. You should call your hairstylist! Perms look great, but they can be hard to control!
