I don't have a garage or yard so technically it doesn't sound right. I plan to set everything up in front of my apartment building. I am trying to get rid of old stuff since I will be moving in Aug. Should I call it a moving sale? Im not selling my furniture though, but I'm not crazy about advertising to the whole world that Im moving. I plan to put up signs around my block but I'm not sure what to call it.

  1. Try listing on www.craigslist.org The ads are free. List under your state and city. You can have the sale in your apt without the landlord torpedoing your "yard" sale as the poster above noted.

  2. These types of sales are often called "Tag Sales" because of the "tags" on each item saying the cost of the item.

You can advertise your sale here: http://www.yardhopper.com

    good luck!

  3. How about inviting some of your neighbors and call it a community sale?

  4. It sounds like a "yard" sale, despite the absence of a real yard.

I would first check with your apartment management unless you don't mind them coming around and torpedoing your yard sale after you get it all set up.
