  1. as a good jamaican i support the police  because criminals are using our entertainment spots to do wrong  also some times these  dances go on for long hours in the morning and affect working class people, clubs how ever should be able to go on  for longer time if so desire .peace out

  2. There is a stereotype that most people who go to these events are criminals. The belief is that dancehall itself is a criminal culture.

    What do i think?

    1. They will do it until the cops who have the job to do get greedy and start taking bribes again.

    2. Either way, it will not have much positive effect on crime.

    3. They need to start thinking about CREATING venues that can accomodate 24/7 events rather than DESTROYING. you need events of all shapes and sizes. The young people need to party when parties get big enough they actually rbing in tourisim revenue.

Did you know that Fort Clarence Beach was originally zoned to be the core of Portmores entertainment district? In other words it was supposed to be an area where 24 hour parties could go on without disturbing residents. The party would be the priority. Just like how some areas are zoned as commercial districts and others are zoned as residential, this was specifically to accomodate entertainment.

Politics caused the whole plan to die. They havent even widened the roads there to accomodate a big event (with maybe 10,000 to 50,000 people).

I want to hear more about the positive infrastructural developments in dancehall, reggae and youth culture.

  3. and closing it off at 2 is goin to prevent crimes how exactly quite frankly i think as long as the music is not near a residential area disturbing anyone they should be left alone. I meant at 2 the party jus a get hype

  4. I agree with it if the dances are in or around residential areas.  This all night dance business cant work man.

  5. Well It just means entertainers going to annoy people from earlier like all 2 00 pm. But I sort of support the decision

  6. I totally agree wit the time limit ppl need fi sleep wen nite come man but, it depends 'cause some sessions don't near any residential areas so those can go all nite like Bembei and there those where ppl don't mind sound sysytem chumpin' like 'Passa Passa'

  7. it's just to curtail the poor people's endeavor, it's another shackle around the ankle,

de man/woman woo ahfi go ah wuk in ah de maaning naa stay whole nite, de only people woo it badda ah dem woo nuh hav nitten fi get out ah di daanz, an it bun dem fi see people ah fulljoy demself. wen police ah keep fi dem daanz, woo lak it aff, it gwaan till afta de fuss cash pot draw de fallarin day, police all waan lak aff de daanz, 11 ahclak  if you caan gi him an im cyar load ah fren dem free red buul an guiness, plus higrade, brite,

These dance bring tourism to Kingston, which is lacking positive international publicity, why should the law want to stem productivity, what control should the police have over a man's honest earnings when he has to pay taxes from the procedures. counter-productive.

how police naa go ah church an tell pasta seh im ah baptize ar save tumuch people at varios howas a nite, ar fi tonn it aff,

eveyting weh gwaan ah daanz ah gwaan ah church, dress style, hair style, selling (mi see guiness an red bull pon cyaat ah church gate, cigarett tu)  magglin, look one anadda, not to menshan s*x ah indeh it deh, dem ah BLESS it indeh.

how police nuh go stop teifin politician from teif poor people tax money at  various howas ah nite, bout dem ah ketch up pon wuk backlog.

    OOOPS.Church and State,

    neva memba.

poor people an dem music muss survive.

    grab dah Peter TOSH ya

    Unoo ole vampyah

    unoo iniquity workah

    unoo bak bitah

    unoo set ah vampyaaaah

  8. I think it is crazy why should they tell you how late you can keep your dance. Di police dem a ipocrite cause if yuh gi dem sum money and sum drinks dem lef yuh a lone. Mi just *** bac from ja and mi keep mi bday bash right out of mi yard gate n it keep till di sun ***, wi still deh deh a party and ting and nat a police *** thru deh. Even though dem seh dem  a enforce it, it all depends pan who yuh know fi real believe me. Dem did arrest Leena Brit the oda day cause dem mussy kill people a har dance sah.

  9. I agree.  It's important that people are able to sleep comfortably at nights without the loud thumping of boom boxes disturbing them 'til daylight.  I think it's a shame that a thing such as this that has to be enforced by the police...promoters and patrons should have enough conscience to know and do better.  Alas that's not the case...
