So James Milner hands in a transfer request.....?

I am a Villa fan and would love to see a player of his quality here again at Villa Park-Especially considering how well he played and how popular he was when he was here on loan in 2005. But I am disgusted he has handed in a transfer request, I mean Newcastle are trying to build a team and under Keegan Milner would have a great future there. I don't think we should continue persuing him now because what happens if Manchester United show an interest this time next year? I want loyal players here!!!!

Also the timing is awful! If he was to decide to leave he should of handing in a request during the close season.

What do Newcastle and Villa fans make of this? (also Liverpool fans seeing that he has also been linked with you)

  1. He cant cross, cant beat a player and is slow....anything more than 5mill and you will have been robbed.

  2. it doesn't matter, he'll only return to leeds when we get back in the premier league anyway!

  3. If Villa offer 9 million for him I'd drive him there myself.

I can't believe that some people cannot see he flatters to deceive and is nothing more than a lower premiership or championship standard player.

He's really hard working and he takes on players, his commitment and professionalism is superb, but as a winger his job is to create and score goals, and he does neither.

9 times out of 10 his crossing is not just average, it's absolutely appalling, and around 7 goals in 4 years says it all for me.

    Good riddance!

  4. I'm a villa fan also and loved him when he played for us. But i do agree with what you are saying totally but still I'd be happy to a degree if he was back with us

  5. I would like spurs to sign him, he would be a good addition to our already improving squad, even tho  results of late have not been going our way.

  6. i think hes a smashing prospect, hard working skillful player with youth on his side, hes a big catch to any club.

  7. I don't know what he wants, he is a regular starter. He is an excellent player, but if we can get 9 or 10 million for him so be it, nobody wants a player who doesn't want to stay.

Personally you are welcome to him.

  8. yes could be very interesting last few days till transfer deadline looming

i for one would like rafa to sign milner.

  9. I have to say as a Newcastle fan i admire your viewpoint.

I think he feels That he is undervalued at Newcastle and he Doesnt see himself as part of the future starting 11 which i have to agree on.

There could be more going on behind the scenes with Newcastle happy to let him go for the right fee also to raise funds.

He is a great addition to our squad and for a player of only 22 years old he has a abundance of experience in the premier league so his value should be very high especially as he is English.

He has been one for the future for far too long now and i think we have seen pretty much everything we are going to get from milner, He is a solid player and will do well at mid table level but Newcastle has aspirations and If we are going to break up the top 4 in the future Milner is not going to be a starting player in a Newcastle side that will do that.

He is a fantasitc squad player and He will add depth to newcastle but as Keegan said recently its quality not quantity as quantity is very expensive as chelsea has proved writing of 48 million in shevchenko and phillips.

I do not think he is a unloyal lad, I think He wants to go and Newcastle are happy to let him leave for the right money.

Milner is nowhere near the kind of guy you get in berbatov or Gareth barry.

  10. He shoudn't go anywhere. He's one of the main players for Newcastle and can create big problems for Keegan if he leaves.
